DIABLO II: RESURRECTED / SAVES

Diablo II: Resurrected saves on Mac

Copy the complete save folder, keep the previous one under a different name, and check the character list before carrying on.

The default Mac app stores saves in ~/Library/Application Support/D2R Mobile/save. A locally built app uses local saves rather than automatic iCloud sync. Manual transfer copies the whole folder.

Know the folder you are replacing

D2R Mobile/
└─ save/
   ├─ <character-name>/
   ├─ Settings/
   └─ shared stash files (.d2i)

Character data, shared stash and the project’s extra save features travel together. Settings also carries the game’s interface language. Custom-page switches are kept per device.

The M3 older-API app uses its own Library folders with M3 in the name. Use the folder belonging to the app you actually open, rather than replacing the default app’s saves by accident.

  2. 02Copy save/Transfer the whole folder

Close the game on both devices

On the phone or tablet, close it in the app switcher. On the Mac, quit with ⌘Q.

Neither copy is writing to the save folder.

Copy the phone’s save folder

In Files, open On My iPhone/iPad → D2R Mobile. Copy the entire save folder by AirDrop, Finder file sharing over a cable, or iCloud Drive.

The transferred folder includes character directories, Settings and shared-stash files.

Keep the Mac’s existing folder

In Finder press ⇧⌘G and open ~/Library/Application Support/D2R Mobile. Rename its save folder to a unique name, such as save-backup-20261020-1800. The app creates this parent folder after its first start.

Your previous saves remain beside the location where the imported save will go.

Put the transferred save here

Copy the phone’s folder into the parent folder as save. If save.work or save.new already exist beside it, leave them; the app rebuilds them.

Character folders are directly under save/, with no extra save/save/ layer.

Open and verify

Open the matching app and inspect its character list. Load the intended character before replacing any of your kept backups.

The expected character and progress appear.

Characters are absentOpen save/ and check for an accidental nested save/ directory.
Only one character or missing shared itemsTransfer the complete folder, not selected character files.
Language changed after importSettings is included in the transferred save.
Progress later differs on the devicesManual copies are separate after transfer; they do not keep syncing.

Undo a transfer

Quit the destination game. Move the imported save aside under another unused name. Rename the kept original back to save, then reopen the same app.

Copy back to the phone later

Reverse the same process: quit both copies, keep the phone’s original save folder under a unique name, and copy the Mac’s complete save into D2R Mobile in Files. Keep both apps current and confirm the resulting character list before playing further.
