A targeted mitigation for the long-session crash in issue #57

Affected: Mac players who saw SIGBUS at main+0x1561c after long sessions (issue #57).

Next step: The author added a guard for one identified stale-reference case. Check whether your build includes e8b5259 and retain logs if it still crashes. The issue remained open on 20 Oct while long-session retests were requested.

RomFS mods can add files the game does not have

Affected: Players using data mods such as The Second Quest (issue #48). ExeFS parts of mods are still not supported.

Next step: Rebuild, then run make_mod_manifest.py on the mod folder again so new files are listed with “-” as the original hash.

Other genuine retail dumps and merged updates are accepted

Affected: NSP builders stopped by “ExeFS main.npdm: SHA-256 … is not the expected …” or “BKTR verification failed”.

Next step: Use the source version in the build guide, then run the same command again. A main.npdm that is neither the pinned file nor Nintendo-signed is still rejected (issue #65, open).

build_app.py checks the C++ headers before it starts

Affected: Macs whose developer tools lack the C++ standard library (issue #41, “’string’ file not found”).

Next step: Nothing unless the new error appears; then follow its xcode-select hint.

    Remap controller buttons with controls.txt

Affected: Mac players with a game controller (PR #35). Tap, toggle and aim modes are available.

Next step: Rebuild, then add a controls.txt if you want a different layout.

PlayStation and Xbox face buttons map by position

Affected: DualSense and Xbox players (issue #10): the right button is now A, as the game’s Switch prompts show.

Next step: Rebuild. To get the old by-label mapping, launch with TOTK_FACE_BUTTONS=label.

Starts on macOS 27; long sessions no longer run out of audio decoders

Affected: macOS 27 Macs that exited at “reserve the 64 GiB alias region” (issue #8) and players who saw “hardware Opus decoder table full” (issue #9).

Next step: Rebuild using the source version in the build guide.
